The Study Leave

It really is a wonder that students like me also uses this term-study leave, where there is a little study and a lot of leave from the hustle -bustle of life. My part-II exam is 8 days away yet I cannot accrue enough grit to exert myself fully into study. This learning phase is essential to fetch a fine score. But alas! I am a good talker and not a reader. Few days ago, I received a message form Rahul(podder), one of my very good friends, regarding what we actually mean by a study leave. It is the leave from study. Aha ha ! what an idea sirji!. It also said what we do in this time-watching movies , munching snacks, computer games, orkut,  chatting, dating  and every other things but studies are to be on pause. I have enough time, I can complete it by tomorrow , It will hardly take an hour. But before this ”tomorrow or ”hour” strikes, it is the 11th hour and may be we find ourselves repenting in the exam hall gazing at the question paper-“kash ek bar aur dekh liya hota!!!.It is the same always. And thus, the “average” never becomes the “good”.
Take me for instance. Now I am sitting on the terrace, writing this article. I am writing because it supplies me with an exhaust pipe to escape the hurry-scurry reality. I come to the roof every afternoon trying to grapple with some disconcerting thoughts. The fresh air yields energy for my evening studies. I postpone my study schedule because shortly, I will be having tea with my family and watch a T.V. serial with them. Night will trod in. I will have my dinner, thinking like that of a philosopher, I may analyze the truth and validity of the education system. Because, the learning procedure is very much imposing for students like me. Days pass like this. And I am really nervous about all these.
As it comes closer, nerves tremble, steps slip and blood pressure hikes. Other symptoms may include nausea, loss of appetite(not in my case),urge for sleep but sleeplessness, frequent urination, increased thirst, muscular fatigue, constipation or loose motion or both alternatively, strained eyes, nose bleeding(in severe cases) and mental breakdown are recurrent occurrences.
All these symptoms are given the name of “Examphobia” and cause is “shirking the job”. Generally, it cures after the exam is over or postponed. But this disease, if stays for years, may immune the patients. In that case symptoms are not so pronounced. Instead, “carelessness, negative  lookout, ”accept as it comes “–type of attitude and escapism are observed. So, that was the medical analysis of a shirking student’s disease ”Examphobia” by an immuned patient(who is almost a zoologist). In terms of science, we have explanations, be it valid or not, for every happening in the world. We know about the disease, its cause and controls. But who cares??-we keep shirking and do whatever is forbidden. It interests us-gossips, poker games, romance, movies and parties. Books remain our never failing friends, Because we never complete reading them. And we would highly proclaim, ”I do not rely upon bookish knowledge.”.why of course! We do far better at the practicals. It is another way of shirk.
It is really funny and satisfactory to complete the entire syllabus by a night and do a miracle at the exams. We do hope for the best and dream of coming out with flying colours with least efforts. But we seldom succeed. So what? we do na!! so cheers!!
It is getting dark. I need to be back now. What I will be doing next is mentioned in the first page of the essay. Enjoy your study leave. Good bye!!!
